2016 may be the year to shut down the so-called Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) once and for all in Georgia. This bill has failed twice, but Sen. Josh McKoon has vowed to bring it back in session. The consequences are huge: If we don’t stop this bill, any person or business could ignore any law—including nondiscrimination laws against LGBT Georgians—under the guise of religious freedom. With the latest media coverage and players jumping in trying to define the narrative, Georgia Equality continues work to better the policies for LGBT communities.. We applaud Georgia businesses – Delta, UPS, Coca-Cola and Home Depot and many others for holding firm in the stance against discrimination.
