As said during our recent Evening for Equality, between the board and staff, there is not a team of people more passionate working every day to advance fairness, safety and opportunity for LGBTQ communities and our allies throughout the state.
And this work is needed now more than ever before. We’ve known for some time that we can’t rely solely upon the courts to protect our rights. We must do the hard work of changing laws and policies at all levels of government.
And that is exactly we are doing.
Today 12% of Georgians live in a community where they are protected against discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations.
Today more than 54,000 people living with HIV no longer have to worry that they will be charged under an HIV criminalization statute written over 30 years ago when fear overcame reason and stigma was more powerful than science.
Today we are working with students, families, and allies across the state to ensure that transgender kids can have access to gender affirming medical care.
That is just a sample of what your donation on Give OUT Day will support.
This year for Give OUT Day, thanks to our partnership with AIDS Walk Atlanta, every donation made through this link will be matched! It’s never been easier to support the work of Georgia Equality and have your donation of any amount have double the impact!
And even though you are giving through the AIDS Walk, not only will those funds be doubled, they will also be used to support and expand all of our work across the state.”
