We will not stop fighting.

Over the last few weeks, you’ve heard Chanel, Eric, Shannon, DeMarcus, Amanda, and Michael and Matt talk about Georgia Equality’s work over the past year. I hope you had a chance to read what they had to say. 2018 has indeed been a busy year in the fight for LGBTQ equality in Georgia, and your support is why Georgia Equality has been so successful this year. As we close the final hours of this year, I wanted to ask you to fund Georgia Equality’s fight for 2019.

This year, with your support, we’ve achieved the following:

  • For the fifth year in a row, we ensured that no anti-LGBT legislation passed in Georgia.
  • We conducted direct voter outreach to 300,000 equality voters across the state.
  • You took your #Pride2Polls in support of our endorsed, pro-equality candidates. As a result, we elected our 5th openly LGBTQ state legislator and helped 30 endorsed candidates win their races – 15 of which will be brand new to public office.
  • We’ve convened our fourth cohort of the Youth HIV Policy Advisors. These future leaders are being trained to guide policy around HIV and AIDS, and are preparing to serve as unofficial policy advisors to elected officials.
  • We’ve launched the inaugural TransActionGA Leadership Academy, which equips current and future transgender and non-binary leaders with the tools to lead positive conversations and action in their communities.

However, despite those successes and others, we still have work to do.
We will continue to face unprecedented and far-reaching challenges to the gains we’ve made toward equality for LGBTQ communities and our allies throughout the state. In January, legislators will return to the State Capitol amid lingering threats to write anti-LGBTQ discrimination into law. With your support, Georgia Equality will not only fight against these efforts, we will WIN. But our path to victory relies on your support.

For the work ahead, I need you to invest in our fight for equality by donating to Georgia Equality at any level of support you can provide.

Each day we get closer to a more equal Georgia, and each person who stands with us makes it happen even faster. We will not stop fighting for you in 2019, and I hope you will join us.

Fighting for equality,

Jeff Graham, Executive Director
