In honor of World AIDS Day, Georgia Equality will partner with the Counter Narrative Project on Living With- an art-infused lunch & learn discussion series focused on topics related to race and HIV. On October 16th GE’s Senior Field Organizer Rob Woods participated in the University Of Georgia College Of Education’s panel discussion on LGBTQIA advocacy. Rob was joined by Kelvin Rutledge representing UGA GLOBES. The primary topics for the panel discussion included LGBTQIA Advocacy in Georgia, issues facing LGTBQIA youth in K-12 schooling, how educators can create a safe environment for our LGBTQIA youth, and the state’s need for comprehensive civil rights. Join us at the Phillip Rush Center (1530 DeKalb Ave, Ste A, Atlanta, GA 30307) on Monday, November 6th for Georgia Equality’s first ever Text-bank to Get Out the Vote! Volunteers will use our software to text supporter to make sure they’re turning out to vote for the November 7th elections!
