Georgia Equality Endorses Alex Wan for Atlanta City Council President

The Board of Directors of Georgia Equality is pleased to endorse Atlanta City Councilperson Alex Wan in his pursuit to become Atlanta City Council President.

Wan was first elected to the City Council District 6 post in 2009 and is the first Asian American and first openly gay man to serve on Atlanta City Council. As a member of the City Council, Alex has helped strengthen the city’s non-discrimination policy regarding gender identity and co-sponsored City legislation opposing the Georgia Legislature’s efforts to implement a so-called religious freedom act (RFRA).
