CELEBRATING LGBTQ+ PEOPLE AND PLACES THAT DEFINE US
All are invited to attend and share about individuals and about sites that are meaningful and precious to you, whether present or past.
Folks will have an initial five minutes to share, and more time after everyone has their opportunity.
Evening will begin with tribute to the late master chef Ria Pell who founded Ria’s Bluebird Cafe, by her spouse Kiki Carr, cultural community organizer and activist.
Ria’s Bluebird and proprietors Julie and Stephen Gannon are our hosts for the evening, in collaboration with the Atlanta Preservation Center and Touching Up Our Roots, Georgia’s LGBTQ+ Story Project. Roots Coordinator Dave Hayward is the contact for posting about your persons and your places. Please message your content to email hidden; JavaScript is required.
Event is part of annual Phoenix Flies presentation in March of Atlanta Preservation Center, “A Celebration of Atlanta’s Historic Sites” at preserveatlanta.com.
Light beverages will be available. Attendees are welcome to bring their own snacks and to bring their own beverages in addition, BYOB.
Please join us for a cultural event and community celebration.
Yours in Activism,
Dave Hayward, Coordinator
