You may be familiar with hearing about the roughly 14,000 kids in Georgia foster care, and you’ve likely heard about the attempts in the legislature to make it harder for our LGBT community to adopt. But you’re less likely to know that people from all walks of life are already adoptive or foster parents in Georgia.
The children in foster care are diverse, and they need diverse parents. That’s why AdoptGA works hard to support and engage all types of families, including LGBT, single-parent, and people of all religions and races.
If you’re curious about the process or would like to connect with others, come check us out at AdoptGA.org. Or you can come see us at Atlanta Pride this October. We will be there for the second year in a row, recruiting new parents alongside Georgia DFCS.
