You can make a meaningful and lasting impact on the fight for equality in the state we love, without having to give up crucial assets during your lifetime.
For almost 25 years, support from donors like you have made Georgia Equality the state’s largest advocacy organization fighting to secure equality for LGBTQ Georgians. We are proud of what the Georgia Equality community has accomplished – and we won’t stop until we’ve brought equality home for everyone across this great state.
A gift left to Georgia Equality in your will, trust or beneficiary designation is a way to ensure that as long as we need to, we can mobilize our communities on issues that matter most to you, including, transgender rights, non-discrimination protections, hate violence, and HIV/AIDS advocacy.
How It Works
A planned gift to Georgia Equality made in your will can take many forms:
- You can designate a percentage of your estate.
- You can designate a specific sum of money.
- You can leave the remainder of your estate after other beneficiaries receive the portions you designate.
- You can make Georgia Equality the contingent beneficiary of your estate if your spouse/partner or other beneficiaries pass away before you.
- You can also create a charitable trust.
Benefits
- Your name listed on the Georgia Equality website
- Inspire lasting change to advance equal rights and justice for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Georgians
- Have peace of mind knowing that your intentions have been formally noted in your estate plans
Next Steps
It’s important to have basic estate plans in place to ensure your family, philanthropic and financial goals are met after you die. We know this can be a lot to think about! Consult your own qualified financial and legal advisors prior to making a planned gift. We are happy to discuss a proposed gift with your financial and legal advisors if desired.
If you already have a will or trust in place, adding Georgia Equality is simple! Use this sample bequest language in your will:
