I am the foster parent recruiter for Georgia MENTOR. Our office is located in Warner Robins but we have offices also in Atlanta, Albany, Augusta, and Savannah.
Georgia MENTOR is a child placing agency that partners with The MENTOR Network, LLC and is contracted through The Department of Family and Children Services of Georgia. At The MENTOR Network, we believe that children belong in families and deserve to live in homes where they can feel safe, valued and loved.
Despite Georgia Mentor’s goal of having a safe, structured and loving home for every child placed within the foster care system, the reality is that the state of Georgia is in desperate need of opening more foster homes and agencies like Nexus fostering agency. You can make a difference!
We are very excited to legally be able to target the LGBTQ community with this opportunity to become foster and adoptive parents! LGBTQ families have been so limited and restricted in the ways to start families but recently laws have changed, and I can help you make your dreams of a family come true!
In our foster care program, we match youth of all ages with dedicated foster parents, who we call “Mentors.” We call our foster parents Mentors because they do so much more than provide homes to children and adolescents in need—they help them grow and learn, forever changing their lives. With the help of our expert staff, Mentors provide individualized treatment and support to help children with complex emotional or behavioral challenges succeed—wherever their life journeys take them.
By opening your home to a foster child and becoming a Mentor, you’ll have the opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life, and the bonds of family created can last a lifetime. Please consider allowing our agency to attend host an event with your agency, or to attend one of your meetings to talk with your staff and participants about the possibility of becoming a Mentor and changing the life of a child in need!
