What: AIDSWatch in Georgia 2018: HIV Advocacy at the Gold Dome
When: Thursday, February 8, 2018 8:30am – 12:00pm
Where: Coverdell Legislative Office Building (18 Capitol Square SW, Atlanta, GA 303340, exact room TBD) We will meet for a brief recap/mini-training at 9am, have coffee and light breakfast, then head across the street to the Capitol to speak with our legislators.

Details/Purpose: Over 54,000 people living with HIV live, work and thrive in every legislative district across our state, but many state lawmakers are unaware of the issues that affect our diverse communities. This event will provide attendees with an opportunity to talk one-on-one with their representative in the House and Senate (don’t know who your legislators are? No problem- click here!!!). We will educate elected officials on issues like HIV criminalization, HIV education, HIV prevention/care funding, healthcare access, LGBTQ rights, racial justice and reproductive justice.
