In honor of World AIDS Day, Georgia Equality will partner with the Counter Narrative Project on Living With- an art-infused lunch & learn discussion series focused on topics related to race and HIV. All discussions will take place at the Auburn Avenue Research Library and are open to the public.

Session Overview
This interactive community conversation will center the topic of race and racism in discussing the issues faced by people living with HIV in organizations designed to serve them. Local activists will lay out a framework for racial justice and HIV service provision that centers advocacy for racial equity.

Session Overview
This community conversation will feature local experts discussing HIV in the context of reproductive justice. Women living with HIV will share experiences of marginalization from social service and explore a path forward for centering women’s lives in the fight against our regional epidemic. The topics of race and reproductive justice will inform this discussion, moderated by reproductive justice leaders.

Session Overview
This community conversation will feature expert opinions on the topic of HIV criminalization and its impact in communities of color, particularly those most impacted by HIV. An expert panel will discuss Georgia’s HIV criminalization laws and their significance for HIV prevention, care and the public’s health. Social justice advocates from the Georgia Coalition to End HIV Criminalization will discuss the importance of legislative reform as an HIV advocacy issue.

Session Overview
Hosted by the Counter Narrative Project, this discussion will focus on the timeline of the AIDS crisis in the United States through the lens of racial equity. Stories will focus on the voices and work of black, gay artists who spoke and wrote about HIV in the 1980s and 1990s, and local artifacts will be on display in a visual timeline of HIV in Atlanta.
