Georgia Equality’s Cocktails for Equality in Augusta

Georgia Equality and local Augusta partners hosted the Augusta Cocktails for Equality Reception & Benefit at the Partridge Inn where we met with community member and local elected officials.

As part of the evening, guests and friends mourned the shocking loss of Rowan Feldhaus, a Georgia Equality board member and remembered him as fearless advocate for LGBT rights.

As we continue to build momentum and interest in supporting equality in the state of Georgia, our efforts were noticed by the elected officials who joined us. We met with the newly appointed Augusta – Richmond LGBT liaison Kellie Irving, with a surprise in the evening as she presented a letter acknowledging the work of Georgia Equality and Augusta Pride from Mayor Hardie Davis. State Senator Jesse Stone also attended and heard from GE and local community members about their concerns as well.

We are extremely grateful to our Individual and Business Donors in the community whose generous donations, and who made the night tremendous success.

Special bonus! These donations will be matched by The Gill Foundation, enabled us to raise over $6,300 for Georgia Equality!

Thank you again to our incredible partners!
