Ask Your Mayor to Support the Freedom to Marry

Mayors for the Freedom to Marry is a broad-based and nonpartisan group of mayors who believe that all people should be able to share in the love and commitment of marriage. As of writing this email, there are four mayors from our home state of Georgia who have signed on, including Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, who is a Co-Chair of Mayors for the Freedom to Marry.

Read the Mayors for the Freedom to Marry statement, and look at the more than 400 mayors from nearly 40 states and Washington, D.C. who have signed on.

If you don’t see your mayor listed, join us in asking them to publicly support the freedom to marry.  Send your mayor a short email letting them know about Mayors for the Freedom to Marry, and ask them to add their name.  Please be sure to provide them with the following link:

If you would like assistance contacting your mayor please feel free to contact GE Deputy Director, Melinda Sheldon at email hidden; JavaScript is required.

Please note that your mayor is the only person who can sign on, not a representative of the mayor.  Someone will follow up with them to confirm their support.

Thank you for your help in winning the Freedom to Marry in Georgia!
